Cornhill COVID Self Isolation Note

Dear All

The Cornhill Committee has been made aware by one of our club members that he is having to self-isolate, following close contact with a person who has been tested postive for COVID. This other person is not a member at Cornhill and has not played squash at our club. Also, the club member has no COVID symptoms but is following the NHS guidelines that cover self-isolation.

The self-isolating member last played at Cornhill earlier this week but has since cancelled all of his other forthcoming court bookings until the end of his self-isolation period (10 days). He will have contacted you directly if you were due to play him.

Therefore, this is deemed to be a low-risk situation but the Committee believes we should advise the wider membership of the circumstances. It was very helpful of the member to advise us of his personal situation so promptly. It is expected that any other members who are requested to self-isolate follow this same process.

There is no plan to change the current COVID guidelines at Cornhill that are in line with England Squash requirements. The court remains open to all members. However, we should take the opportunity to re-enforce the key elements of the Cornhill Risk Assessment, notably:

It remains each Cornhill Member's personal prerogative to decide whether or not they wish tp play squash under the current guidelines. The Summer League will continue to run without any changes to the rules or the format.

John Carrington

On Behalf of the Cornhill Squash Club Committee
