Squash Winter League 2023-24 Period 1

Dear All

We have 42 players involved in the first 5-week period of the Cornhill Squash Club Winter League that begins on Monday 2nd October and runs through to Sunday 5th November. This is a record number of entrants, so thanks to everyone for your support and involvement in this competition.

There are six divisions, with seven players in each. There are 6 x 5-week periods during the season, with the top two in each division being promoted and the bottom two relegated each period.

Please take five minutes to read through the competition rules that are shown in the League section of MyCourts. There are a couple of amendments from last season, so it is worth you understanding these before the start of the season.

We are conscious that there are quite a number of new members playing in this competition, so please feel free to contact any member of the Committee if you have any questions that are not specifically covered in the competition rules.

It is important that the court booking activity is split fairly equally, so please try to organise your fair share of league matches throughout the season. The plan is that you will play 6 league matches in each 5-week period but please be aware that some players will have restrictions on when they are able to play, driven by family, work, holiday and other commitments. Please be as flexible as possible in this respect - it can be quite frustrating at times to organise all your league matches.

The league details are now available for viewing on MyCourts so you can start to book your games from now, with the first matches available to play from Monday 2nd October.

Finally, if you're not involved in the first period of the Winter League, but would like to be included later in the season, please just contact John Carrington, who will add you into the league at the start of one of the future periods.

Have a great Winter League and enjoy all your matches!

Best Wishes

The Cornhill Squash Club Committee
