Squash Summer League Details

Dear All

There are 33 entrants for the 2017 Summer League. There will be 2 x 10 week periods; the first running from 8th May to 16th July and the second running from 17th July to 24th September.

All players have been given a handicap - please see the details on the attachment.

The 33 players are split into three groups (shown as divisions on MyCourts) but these groups are "equal" in status. The winner of the Summer League will be the player that accumulates the most points over the two combined periods during the summer.

After the first period, the make-up of the three groups will be changed via a second draw - this will give everyone the chance to play a wider range of players over the summer.

In the Summer League,American Rules are in place:
• First to 21 in each set
• At 20-20, keep going until either player is 2 points clear
• Handicaps apply to each set. Start each set from your handicap score.

All games, best of five sets: 3 - 0, 3 - 1 or 3 - 2, and each player scores one point for playing, therefore scores will count as 4-1, 4-2 or 4-3. Please note that, in the Summer League, if a player plays only some of the games in the period, all of those scores will stand, irrespective of reason for unplayed games. The Fixtures Secretary has final say on any disputes!

Please try your best to play as many games as possible, acknowledging that holidays will be a factor during the summer. Also please try to book your fair share of the matches.

Good luck!

Regards
John Carrington
on behalf of the Cornhill Squash Club Committee
