Squash Summer League and Other Key Dates - PLEASE READ

Dear All

Current Winter League

The 2021-22 Cornhill Winter League has three weeks to run before the end date of Sunday 1st May 2022. Please try to squeeze in as many games as possible during this remaining period, particularly if you are in Division 4, where no games have been played to date.

Summer League 2022

The Summer League will commence on Monday 9th May 2022.

There will be two periods of 10 weeks each. The first will run from 9th May to 17th July and the second will run from 18th July to 25th September.

During each of the two periods, all entrants will play in a Round Robin format, where the aim is to play as many of your opponents as possible. All entrants will play off an individual handicap (TBC once entries confirmed) and the ultimate winner of the Summer League Trophy will be the player who accumulates the most points over the 20 weeks.

It is not mandatory (or expected) that all entrants will play 100% of their available matches, but please only enter if you are actually going to play some of the games - this avoids frustration with other players.

If you do not wish to enter, it would also be helpful if you could reply to this message, just to confirm that you do not wish to play in the Summer League. This just assists with the check that the message is reaching the full membership.

Cup Competitions

We now have the eight semi-finalists for the two cup competitions. These matches must be played by Saturday 30th April.

The two Cup Finals are scheduled* for Wednesday 18th May, prior to the Club AGM (7pm), as follows:

Plate Competion to start at 5.30pm

Knockout Trophy to start at 6.15pm

*Please note that one or both of the finals could be rescheduled, subject to the availability of the finalists. The times and dates will be absolutely confirmed once the semi-finals have been completed.

Winter League 2022-23

The next Winter League will commence on Monday 3rd October 2022 and run for 30 weeks.

Enjoy Your Squash!
